New York Socialists: Barack Obama Is Not a Socialist

26 January 2012

By: Victoria Bekiempis
Village Voice

"In a statement published in the Socialist Party NYC website today, Stewart Alexander -- 2012 Socialist Party USA Presidential Candidate -- said that the first thing that came to mind post-SOTU is the phrase 'too little, too late.' 'After spending the last few years coddling the banks and the richest 1%, Obama has the nerve to now call for 'economic fairness.' To him, this means tweaking payroll taxes and making a rhetorical call to reverse the Bush tax cuts for the rich,' he wrote...."

Socialist Response to the State of the Union

Obama’s State of the Union - Too Little Too Late

A Statement by Stewart Alexander, Socialist Party Candidate for President of the United States

25 January 2012

The phrase that came to mind immediately upon hearing President Barack Obama’s State of the Union speech is “too little, too late.” After spending the last few years coddling the banks and the richest 1%, Obama has the nerve to now call for “economic fairness.” To him, this means tweaking payroll taxes and making a rhetorical call to reverse the Bush tax cuts for the rich. For working people in America real fairness means the right to a job, a guarantee of healthcare for all and an end to the Military Industrial Complex. Obama won’t deliver this. That’s why I am running for President against him...

Interview with Socialist Party USA 2012 Presidential Candidate Stewart Alexander

24 January 2012

The Modern Left

"We need to create a new democratic voice that helps us to make rational decisions about industry, financial institutions, and the use of our precious natural resources. Overall, I intend to put the vast wealth of this society to work to finally satisfy human needs instead of feeding the profit hungry 1% and the corporations that they own...."

Socialist Party USA’s Alexander / Mendoza Campaign Calls Jobs Report a Holiday Mirage

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
17 January 2012
Contact: Lynn Lomibao
Email: media@stewartalexanderforpresident2012.org

Los Angeles, CA – The Socialist Party USA Presidential Ticket of Stewart Alexander and Alex Mendoza are expecting a very poor February jobs report after reading the report released on January 6. They note that good jobs are still giving way to poor ones and jobs gained appeared to be directly tied to the holiday season – in particular the massive consumerism revolving around Christmas and the short time beyond. They hold to their message that capitalism is failing Americans.

Who would I vote for?

05 January 2012

By: Devin Wallace
Albany Times Union (NY)

"I refuse to vote for a lesser of two evils. Evil is evil and no compromise should be made to let it remain.... Depending on ballot rules, I might toss my vote to Stewart Alexander.... It would make as much of a difference to national politics if I gave my vote to Corporate Pawn One or Corporate Pawn Two...."

Glenn Greenwald, Robert Scheer shill for arch-reactionary Ron Paul

By: Bill Weinberg
World War 4 Report

"There is a case to be made for a tactical vote for Obama to fend off the truly fascistic scenarios represented by a President Gingrich, Perry, Bachmann or Paul—even while vigorously opposing him on the Web and in the streets. There is also a good case that giving the Democrats a blank check will not halt the fascistic trajectory, and is counter-productive. If you feel swayed by the latter case—please, work for the Socialist Party candidate Stewart Alexander. Or join the anarcho-abstentionists and work to expose the entire political process as the sordid farce that it is...."

Menendez Feeds Military and Strips Civil Rights with the NDAA

A Statement by Greg Pason, Socialist Party Candidate for United States Senate (New Jersey)

04 January 2012

If New Jersey needed any further illustration of the dead-end of Democratic Party politics it was recently provided by Senator Robert Menendez and President Barack Obama. Menendez and Obama teamed up to support the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), a military bill stuffed fat with billions of dollars and provisions that further eliminate our civil liberties. As a Socialist, I protest this bill. But this year I’m doing more than just protesting. I am running as the Socialist Party USA candidate for Senate to unseat Menendez and my fellow Socialist, Stewart Alexander, is taking on Obama for the presidency...
