Socialist talks politics to Whittier students
12 March 2012
By Hugo Guzman
Quaker Campus
"Last Thursday, Whittier College students were treated to a visit by Presidential candidate Stewart Alexander. Alexander, who is running for President of the United States under the Socialist Party USA, was invited on campus by senior Rex Bartuzik, a member of the Whittier Activism Coalition. Bartuzik spoke to Alexander’s agent, who got him in touch with the man himself. Alexander spoke to students about his campaign and the current politics in America...
Although being well-received by Whittier College students on all sides of the political spectrum, Alexander has a long road ahead of him. Third-party candidates do not have a history of faring well in US politics, but despite this, Alexander and his supporters remain optimistic. 'If we win in California, we might be able to disrupt the entire two-party system.' Bartuzik said. 'The real objective here is to cause social change instead of leader-oriented politics.'"

Statement in Opposition to War on Iran
8 March 2012
A statement by Greg Pason, Socialist Party candidate for U.S. Senate (New Jersey)
The war hawks were out in Washington this week and Senator Robert Menendez, was the lead bird. The call for war with Iran echoed through Congress and as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) met in Washington DC, AIPAC lobbyists used the occasion to further flood Congress with calls to support aggression against Iran. Sen. Robert Menendez was a prime motivator of this call to war by co-sponsoring the pro-war resolution S. R. 380 which holds Iran to a standard regarding IAEA inspections and the Non Proliferation Treaty which Israel has repeatedly refused to obey...

Statement on International Women's Day
March 8, 2012
A statement by Greg Pason, Socialist Party candidate for U.S. Senate (New Jersey)
As the candidate of a socialist-feminist Party which continues in the tradition of one of International Women’s Day’s founding organizations (Socialist Party of America), I want to wish you all a healthy and happy International Women’s Day.
Speaking of “health and happiness”, these have been serious issues for women today, one hundred and one years after the first International Women’s Day. The Congress and state governments have continued to attack the rights of women to health and reproductive services and have also cut many programs which directly effect women and their families...
